Please refrain from feeding stray cats at the dumpster and in the park

Please refrain from feeding stray cats at the dumpster and in the park.  While this may seem like a kind and compassionate act, it can lead to several unintended problems, including:
  1. Overpopulation – Stray and feral cats reproduce rapidly.
  2. Attracting More Cats and Wildlife – Food left out for stray cats often attracts more cats as well as other wildlife like raccoons, opossums, rats, and even coyotes.
  3. Health Issues and Disease Spread – Stray cats can carry diseases such as feline leukemia, FIV, and parasites, which can spread to other cats, pets, and even humans in some cases.
  4. Mess and Sanitation Issues – Leftover food can become a breeding ground for bacteria, attract pests, and create an unsightly mess in public areas.
